A New Challenge

This month, I heard across Facebook an interesting challenge. This challenge is to go processed food free. My family has decided we are going to give it a go. This means, everything from scratch. If we purchase something, EVERY ingredient needs to be a basic, whole ingredient. For example: flour, sugar, water, you know, words you understand and ingredients you could actually purchase. The challenge is for an entire month. This means no running to Taco Bell on days I just don’t feel like it. It also means my crock pot is going to get a good work out.

For us, this will be completely worth it. Since we started eating more from scratch and removed almost all of our processed foods and dyes from out food we have all noticed we felt better. My kids are listening better, they’re feeling better, and frankly so are the adults.

Now the challenge is for an entire month. It was started here at Eatingrules.com. Hopefully we’ll make it the entire month, but who knows. All I do know is that we’re going to try our best, and maybe I’ll come up with some more quick and easy meals or ideas for those days that I just can’t seem to get cooking.

Skip the nutritional labels, they mean nothing. Instead, look at the ingredient list and see what you’re actually putting into your body.
